Laurie Burgess is co-founder of The Yellow Rose Farm. Horses have had a profound impact on her personal journey. She loves helping others find for themselves the magic of self-discovery that the horses offer each and every person they come in contact with. Her passion for horses combine perfectly with her compassion for people.

Laurie is also a Reiki Master/Coach. Our bodies can hold on to the energies of our past.  Laurie uses a gentle, intuitive, light touch technique that can help you release these issues, leading to better physical and emotional health.

Co-Founder of The Yellow Rose Farm llc, Steve is EAGALA Certified and brings many years of equine experience with him as well as a strong desire to help others explore life's journey through EAP/EAL. Steve retired in 2009 from a lengthy career in construction sales and now lives on the farm in Somerset, Wisconsin with his wife, daughter, dog, 2 cats, and 8 equine friends.  Steve also cherishes time spent with his son, daughter-in-law and beautiful granddaughters.


Lindsay Hildreth, MA, LAMFT, ECP, received her Masters of Arts in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy from the Adler Graduate School in Minnesota and works with a broad spectrum of clients. With a compassionate and empathetic approach, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.  As a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Lindsay is passionate about strengthening the foundations of family systems and relationships. She has developed a co-parenting curriculum utilizing the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning approach to help build healthy parenting relationships for healthier children.  Lindsay has 22 years working with horses and has combined her love and passion for horses with her psychotherapeutic skills to serve her clients in an animal assisted format, among other traditional and nontraditional modalities. She is owner of Heartwood Holistic Counseling, in Stillwater, Minnesota.

Nikki has over 18 years of experience providing therapeutic services to individuals and families. She has worked as a psychotherapist since 2007. Through her own experience in the pasture, she came to understand the healing impact of equine therapy on the body and mind. And her love for animals and nature makes the Yellow Rose Farm an ideal office setting. Her therapeutic orientation is mind-body-spirit oriented, 

and her specialties include trauma informed care, anxiety, depression, relational issues, chronic stress, and grief.  She believes the information needed for healing and responding to life is held in the body, and that experiential work, allows one to access their intuitive guide. Nikki also provides psychotherapy at Lakeville Behavioral Health, in Minnesota.
